Subject and predicate

Subject :- The part of sentence which names the person or thing we are speaking about.
This is called the subject of sentence.
Ex. Birds are chirping in the tree.
Where birds is subject of the sentence.
Predicate:- The part of Sentence which tell something about subject is called as predicate of the sentence.
Ex – The boy stood on burning deck.
Where burning deck is predicate of sentence.
1.    Sometimes the predicate may be come before the subject
               Ex. – Sweets are the uses of adversity.
2.    In the Imperative sentence the subject is left out.
               Ex.- Sit down.[Here subject you is understood]

Sentence

Sentence :-  whatever we speak or write we use words. Generally we use these words in groups. Like –
·        Ram sat in a corner.
A group of words like in above example which make complete sense is called a sentence.

Kinds Of  Sentence :-
Sentence is of four types –
·         Assertive sentence – Those which makes statement or assertion.
                             Like - Site plays badminton.  
·        Interrogative sentence-Those which ask question. Like
                             Like – What are you doing?           
·        Imperative sentence – Those which express command, request and entreaties.
                             Like – Have mercy upon us.
·        Exclamatory sentence – Those which express strong feelings.
                            Like – What a shame !
